About This Treatment

What It Is

Sometimes the most healing thing you can do for your body is give it space to rest, recover, and restore. Therapeutic massage and reflexology at Mana Wellness and Aesthetics are not just about relaxation — though you will certainly get that. They are about reducing pain, releasing tension, improving circulation, supporting your nervous system, and complementing your broader wellness journey.

Our skilled therapists offer a range of modalities — from deep tissue work that targets chronic tension and musculoskeletal pain to gentle relaxation massage that calms the nervous system and promotes healing. Reflexology applies targeted pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, and ears that correspond to organs and systems throughout the body, stimulating natural healing responses.

What makes bodywork at Mana different is that it exists within a medical wellness practice. Your massage therapist works in coordination with Aubrie Bair, DNP, FNP-BC and your overall care plan, so your bodywork supports your hormones, your recovery, your stress management, and your overall health goals.

Our Process

How It Works at Mana

Your session begins with a brief conversation about your current concerns — where you are holding tension, any areas of pain, and what you hope to get out of the session. Your therapist tailors the treatment to your needs, adjusting pressure, focus areas, and techniques throughout.

Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to release chronic tension in deeper muscle layers and fascia. Relaxation massage uses flowing, rhythmic techniques to calm the nervous system and promote overall well-being. Reflexology focuses on specific pressure points that correspond to different organs and body systems, promoting balance and natural healing.

All sessions take place in a warm, private treatment room designed for comfort and tranquility. This is your time to disconnect, breathe, and allow your body to do what it does best when given the chance — heal.

What to Expect

Sessions are available in 60-minute and 90-minute formats. Your therapist will step out while you get comfortable on the table, and the session begins when you are ready.

After your massage, you may feel deeply relaxed, loose, and even a little sleepy — that is your nervous system shifting into restoration mode. Drink plenty of water after your session to support the release of metabolic waste from your tissues.

Many patients incorporate massage into their regular wellness routine — weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on their needs and goals. Consistency delivers the best results for chronic tension, stress management, and overall well-being.

FAQ

Massage & Reflexology FAQ

What is the difference between deep tissue and relaxation massage?

Deep tissue massage uses firm, targeted pressure to address chronic muscle tension, adhesions, and pain in deeper tissue layers. Relaxation massage uses lighter, flowing strokes to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and promote overall relaxation. Your therapist can blend techniques based on your needs.

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a therapeutic practice that applies targeted pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, and ears. These points correspond to different organs and systems in the body. Stimulating them promotes natural healing responses, improves circulation, and supports whole-body balance.

How often should I get a massage?

For chronic tension or pain, weekly or biweekly sessions deliver the best results. For general wellness and stress management, monthly sessions are a great foundation. Your therapist can recommend a schedule based on your specific needs.

Can massage help with anxiety and sleep?

Yes. Therapeutic massage has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, and improve sleep quality. Many of our patients report better sleep and reduced anxiety after incorporating regular bodywork into their routine.

Can I combine massage with other treatments?

Absolutely. Massage pairs beautifully with IV therapy for a deeply restorative experience. It also complements hormone optimization, weight loss programs, and overall wellness plans by supporting stress reduction and recovery.
